Welcome to Seascape Cottage, a relaxing beachside retreat overlooking the rocky shores of Sandpiper Beach with expansive views of the southern Salish Sea, the Coastal Range and Vancouver Island’s snow capped peaks. This one acre property provides an idyllic location to commune with the many natural wonders of Hornby Island.
This quaint home is full of cottage charm. A spacious cedar-clad great room is surrounded by large panoramic windows offering lots of natural light and sweeping ocean views. An open kitchen keeps you close to those enjoying the dining and living rooms. Three cosy bedrooms each provide queen sized beds; one bedroom has views of the shoreline and two others are made for those who believe sleeping-in is an important part of any vacation. A freshly renovated bathroom offers updated comfort.
Just above the rocky shoreline is a large level lawn, the perfect place for games of badminton or croquet or simply to spread out a blanket to wile away the hours reading, daydreaming or stargazing. A large, handmade cedar picnic table anchors the yard and offers al fresco dining with commanding views. And the back deck is a quaint spot for coffee or tea while watching the sun rise over the water or for basking in the afternoon sun.
A beachcombers playground lie just below on Sandpiper Beach, a moonscape of sandstone formations providing warm waters for swimming day and night and offering fascinating tidal pools when the tide is out. A bird lover’s paradise complete with heron, eagles, sandpipers, loons and wild geese, perhaps the best thing about Seascape Cottage is the opportunity it presents to remember your place in the nature of things.

A Cleaning Fee of $200 applies to all stays shorter than 7 nights.
Cancellation Policy:
- If the Guest cancels more than 60 days prior to the arrival date, all monies paid are refundable only if and when the same dates are rebooked.
- If the Guest cancels 60 days or less prior to the arrival date, all monies collected are non-refundable.
- All cancellations are subject to an administration fee of $150.

About host
Pat grew up in Vancouver and moved to Hornby in 2010 to follow his husband Michael's dream to live on a Gulf Island, echoing the earlier footsteps of Michael's English grandmother who courageously bought a small rustic cottage sight-unseen in the Lake of the Woods in Western Ontario ,where she shared her love for nature with her two kids. Michael spent childhood summers swimming, canoeing, and running barefoot outdoors, forging an indelible connection to the peace and joy Nature brings.
After managing their own home rental on Hornby for 7 years, a couple of friends asked them to take care of their home too. As is the way with islands, word spread quickly and within a couple of years, My Hornby Stay was born. Since then they have happily cared for some special island homes and now enjoy the great pleasure of hosting the wonderful families who return to Hornby each year.
