Welcome to the quiet charm of Totems, a modern home with rustic roots set against the splendour of the Georgia Strait. Nestled among tall timbers, a soothing mix of earthy textures and contemporary interiors are the perfect compliment to the tranquility of the waves below.
A subtly grand entrance leads into a light-filled and spacious living area enjoying cathedral ceilings and commanding views. The top floor is dedicated entirely to the master suite, a ground floor bedroom has twin bunks and the cabin original to the property has been repurposed into a rustic third bedroom, providing ample room for all.
An ideal location on popular Anderson Drive puts you in easy proximity of such Hornby favourites as Whaling Station Bay, Big Tribune Beach and Helliwell Provincial Park. The rocky beachfront below provides the perfect retreat to watch the sun both rise and set, go for a swim, and catch the thrill of passing orcas. With so much appeal to both body and soul, we invite you to make Totems your next favourite vacation home.

Pat grew up in Vancouver and moved to Hornby in 2010 to follow his husband Michael's dream to live on a Gulf Island, following in the earlier footsteps of Michael's English grandmother who bravely bought a small family cottage sight unseen in the Lake of the Woods in Western Ontario ,where she raised her two kids. Michael grew up spending summers running barefoot outdoors, swimming and canoeing, making an indelible connection to the peace and joy Nature brings.
After managing their own home rental on Hornby for 7 years, a couple of friends asked them to take care of their homes too. As is the way with islands, word quickly spread and in a couple of years, My Hornby Stay was born. Since then they have happily cared for some special island homes and now enjoy the great fortune of hosting the wonderful families who return to Hornby each year.
"We are grateful everyday for this chance to live surrounded by the quiet embrace of Nature and within this tight-knit community. We've made good friends and found great peace. And it indulges our love for making a house into a home."
