This quintessential beach house is steps away from the joy of white sands and spontaneous ocean swims. A sweeping and spacious deck on varying levels provides ample room to enjoy Bay views while savouring a summer read, dining al fresco, or joining in the childlike-laughter coming from kids of all ages out on the beach. A labour of love from the special woman who built it, this lovingly cared-for family home charms you the moment you enter the gates into a mature natural garden. The spacious and bright interiors offer ocean views from the well-appointed kitchen into the cosy dining room and across to the living room complete with gas fireplace. Two good sized bedrooms and a den with a Murphy bed provide space for the entire family. You'll spend most of your time though on the sprawling 1,600 square foot deck, the perfect spot to enjoy serenading seagulls and elegant heron taking flight against fantastic ocean views complete with passing orca and ocean liners. When it comes time to finally stretch your legs, Helliwell Provincial Park with its supernatural hikes and spectacular bluffs is but a short walk away. Come play!

About host
Pat grew up in Vancouver and moved to Hornby in 2010 to follow his husband Michael's dream to live on a Gulf Island, echoing the earlier footsteps of Michael's English grandmother who courageously bought a small rustic cottage sight-unseen in the Lake of the Woods in Western Ontario ,where she shared her love for nature with her two kids. Michael spent childhood summers swimming, canoeing, and running barefoot outdoors, forging an indelible connection to the peace and joy Nature brings.
After managing their own home rental on Hornby for 7 years, a couple of friends asked them to take care of their home too. As is the way with islands, word spread quickly and within a couple of years, My Hornby Stay was born. Since then they have happily cared for some special island homes and now enjoy the great pleasure of hosting the wonderful families who return to Hornby each year.
